The Coffee Champ’ – Coffee Shop and Champagne in Reims (Place d’Erlon)
The Coffee Champ’ is a local coffee shop located a stone’s throw from the Place d’Erlon in Reims. It’s a unique place combining speciality coffee and champagne. At The Coffee Champ’, Kevin welcomes you every day in a relaxed and smiling atmosphere, whether you want a coffee to take away, a homemade cookie or banana bread on the spot, or a hot croissant for lunch!
The Coffee Champ’ experience in Reims
At The Coffee Champ’, the first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the smile and good mood of Kevin, the owner. This coffee shop is a place where you feel good, where the coffee is great and the cakes are to die for!
The decor is tasteful and the place is bright. For smokers, there’s a sheltered terrace outside (seating for around 10). Inside, there are around 15 places to sit, on the ground floor or upstairs. People in wheelchairs will find it easy to sit on the terrace, but it will be more complicated indoors (there is very little space to move around).
Depending on the time of the week, it is possible to work in the café while having a drink. However, space is limited, so it’s not the best place to make your favourite teleworking spot.
The seats upstairs are very much in demand! Personally, I prefer the two seats on the right as you enter, where I can enjoy my coffee and cookie while watching the people go by in the shopping arcade.
The menu: homemade and local
The menu offers a range of locally roasted speciality coffees: whether you like Espresso, Flat White or Macchiato, you’ll find the coffee to suit your time of day. Don’t like coffee? Don’t worry, there’s hot chocolate and tea (including Matcha) on the menu, as well as bottled juices and beers.
The special thing about this coffee shop is that you can also buy Champagne Brut or Rosé directly from local producers. To my knowledge, The Coffee Champ’ is the only establishment in Reims to combine speciality coffee and Champagne.
To eat, throughout the day you have a choice of cookies, brownies, banana bread and carrot cake that Kevin bakes on the premises. He also offers plain croissants, chocolate babkas and granola yoghurts to suit everyone’s preferences. Some cakes are gluten-free or vegetarian.
At lunchtime, you have a choice of savoury croissants (chorizo, cheese, etc.), wraps, and depending on the season Kevin also prepares homemade soup.
Why choose The Coffee Champ’?
Are you looking for a cosy place to warm up after a walk around Reims? Would you like to indulge in a freshly baked cookie with a hot drink? Or would you just like a speciality coffee to take away before continuing your shopping? Whatever your mood, you’ll always get a warm welcome at Coffee Champ’!
A passionate owner
Kevin is the owner and the heart of Coffee Champ’. After discovering coffee shops in Portugal (his family’s country of origin) a few years ago, he set about finding the ideal place to open his café in Reims, the town where he was born. Depending on the day, you may also bump into his sister or his wife, who sometimes helps out in the café.
Practical information
The Coffee Champ’ is located in a covered passageway near the Place d’Erlon, at number 3 Galerie D’Erlon. For Reims locals, this is the same shopping arcade as the Diapason, Bonhomme de Bois and Pylones shops.
Opening times vary according to the season, so always check the opening times on the Google page, or the latest stories on Instagram. Generally, the café is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
Kevin can be contacted by phone directly on 06 78 85 21 36.
